Rockets Wait On Robson
Rye House Rockets will wait for the latest news on injured number one Stuart Robson before deciding on their line up for the Premier Trophy Semi Final 2nd Leg in Sheffield on Thursday night. Robson missed the 66-26 victory over the Tigers at the weekend and is rated as having a 50/50 chance of a return in the away leg. Javelin thrower Paula Collis is joined by Lizzie Hall (Steeplechase); Lizzie Brathwaite (800m); Gareth Dodd (400m); and Christina Silva (400mHurdles). Understandably delighted Head Coach Dave Rice told Matchbeat "The Club is extremely proud to have so many of its athletes invited to such an important major competition, especially the younger athletes who are just beginning to emerge from the junior ranks, and whilst they may only have their foot on the first rung of the ladder, the most important thing at this stage is they are being recognised for their abilities"

Cents Tame Bears
St Albans Centurions gained revenge for their defeat at Coventry Bears last season pulling away at the end of a hard fought game to win 38-26 and retain 2nd place in National League Three.

Rockets Captain Misses Edinburgh Rematch
Silver Ski Rockets expect plenty of needle in this weekends double against Edinburgh Monarchs. The Scots objection to Rye House hosting their Premier Trophy semi final against Sheffield while Edinburgh still had a mathematical but unlikely chance of displacing the Yorkshire team caused a blank weekend at Hoddesdon.
Brent Werner misses Saturdays home leg of the Knockout Cup First Round but will ride tonight at Armadale. Werner has been selected for the USA team involved in World Cup qualification in Latvia.
Rockets can only use the Rider replacement rule to cover his absence which means only Edward Kennett, Daniel King, Steve Boxall and Tommy Allen can take his rides.

Ware Hosts First Womens Athletics Meeting
Its a busy weekend ahead for Herts Phoenix's Women's Teams, with the Southern Women's League Team travelling to Abingdon to compete against top of the league team Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow AC and also top placed home team Radley AC.

Some of these Clubs will be fielding their 'internationals' and this will be a great experience for many of our up and coming young athletes".
Field events start at 12 and track events at 1.00
Also on Sunday, the Club's National Young Athletes Team travels to Ilford where it hopes to reproduce its form from its first match last month that has positioned it at the top of its division in line for promotion to the Southern Premier League.
