Ware Hosts First Womens Athletics Meeting
Its a busy weekend ahead for Herts Phoenix's Women's Teams, with the Southern Women's League Team travelling to Abingdon to compete against top of the league team Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow AC and also top placed home team Radley AC.
On Sunday Herts Phoenix plays host to its first UK Women's League Match which will be held at the Stuart Storey Track at Wodson Park, Ware.
"This is an very important landmark in the Club's history" reports the Club's Senior Coach, Dave Rice "against most of these Clubs we are minnows, but there are only 32 Clubs in the UK League, and whilst we are in Division 4, this still places us amongst the top Clubs in the UK."
Some of these Clubs will be fielding their 'internationals' and this will be a great experience for many of our up and coming young athletes".
Field events start at 12 and track events at 1.00
Also on Sunday, the Club's National Young Athletes Team travels to Ilford where it hopes to reproduce its form from its first match last month that has positioned it at the top of its division in line for promotion to the Southern Premier League.
