Five Phoenix Stars Head for Commonwealth Trials
Five Herts Phoenix Athlete’s have received invitations to compete at the Commonwealth Trials which will be held in Manchester on the second weekend in July. Javelin thrower Paula Collis is joined by Lizzie Hall (Steeplechase); Lizzie Brathwaite (800m); Gareth Dodd (400m); and Christina Silva (400mHurdles). Understandably delighted Head Coach Dave Rice told Matchbeat "The Club is extremely proud to have so many of its athletes invited to such an important major competition, especially the younger athletes who are just beginning to emerge from the junior ranks, and whilst they may only have their foot on the first rung of the ladder, the most important thing at this stage is they are being recognised for their abilities"
