Louis Off As Play Off Door Closes On Borough
Stevenage Borough's hopes of a place in the play offs were shattered at the Lawns and to complete Graham Westley's misery he saw Jefferson Louis red carded for violent conduct. Bruno Texiera gave Forest Green the lead 3 minutes before half time after Luke Oliver had headed Borough's best opportunity wide of the target. Julian Alsop's header on the hour doubled Forest Greens advantage before Louis and Green's Darren Jones both saw red with 13 minutes remaining. In the end Morcambe's victory at Grays sealed Borough's fate as once again a season that promised so much ended in frustration.

Ryman League Division Two
Ware's 1-0 defeat at Egham couldn't put a dampner on the Blues title celebrations. The defeat was only Ware's 7th in 30 league games. Goals from Robbie Syrett, Phil Goss and a double from Ryan Redford gave Hertford a winning conclusion to a tough season with a 4-2 victory at Edgware.

Spartan South Midlands League Premier
A 1-0 win at Ruislip Manor ensured an 8th place finish for Welwyn Garden City. It was the Citizens third consecutive away win. St Margaretsbury were also succesful on the road 2-1 at Tring Athletic. Saints though finished in a disappointing 12th place in the table.

Herts Senior County League Premier

Borough's Fate Goes To The Wire
Stevenage Borough will have to beat Forest Green next Saturday and hope that Halifax fail to get a point from their remaining two home games and Morcambe slip up at Grays if they are to keep their play off dream alive. A 1-1 draw against York at Broadhall Way was not the result Graham westley was looking for although the manager will know it could have been worse as his side ended a bad tempered affair with 9 men. Darryn Stamp was the first to go dismiised for a second bookable offence after only 38 minutes Jason Goodliffe seeing red for dissent in the last minute. York went in front through Clayton Donaldson after 35 minutes. Goodliffe's right footed effort pulling Stevenage level 3 minutes before the break. in a tense second period Alan Julian kept Borough in business tipping Andy Bishop's close range effort round the post in the last minute.

Ryman League Division Two
The champagne stays on ice at Wodson Park after Ware again failed to secure the Division Two Title. The Blues went down 2-0 to closest challengers Witham who still have a mathmatical chance to snatch the title. the Essex club though must beat Brook House on Tuesday or Ware will finally be crowned champions. Fresh from their fighting display in the midweek derby Hertford's injury hit squad secured a 2-0 win over Epsom & Ewell at Hertingfordbury Park, Ryan Redford scoring both.

Spartan South Midlands League
Welwyn Garden City bounced back from their midweek home defeat to FA Vase Finalists Hillingdon Borough. The Citizens recorded their first win in 3 beating strugglers Haringey Borough 3-0. After a frustrating season St Margaretsbury finally seem to be hitting form. Saints added to their 7-1 demolition of Harpenden with a 2-1 at London Colney. in contrast the Blueboys have now gone 5 without a win. In Division One Hoddesdon were beaten for the first time since 18th March 1-0 at already relegated Ampthill Town.

Herts Senior County League
Hatfield Town made sure ofthe runners up spot in the Premier Division thrashing relegated Evergreen 8-1. Lewis Field taking his season tally to 20 with a well taken hattrick. Buntingford could still finish third after they won 2-1 at London Lions. Robbie Wilmott and Will Turl on target for Town. Codicote drew 1-1 at Chipperfield.

Goss Penalty Puts Champagne On Ice

A last minute penalty by Hertford's Phil Goss spoiled Ware's Championship party after a pulsating local derby ended all square at Wodson Park. The Blues now require a point from Saturday's home game against Witham to be crowned Ryman League Division Two Champions. Goss's penalty thumped high into the net came after former Hertford man Sam Berry had been adjudged to have handled Ryan Redford's drive inside the box. It capped a remarkable second half which had Ware's biggest crowd of the season enthralled as the teams shared six goals. Chris Ellerbeck headed Glen Alzapedi's side in front 8 minutes after the break. Hertford though struck back on the hour when Anthony Anstead failed to hold Redford's effort leaving Daryl Mitchell to scoop the ball home. That started a period which saw three goals in as many minutes. John Frendo firing Ware back in front before the home fans could catch their breath though a moment of indecision in the Ware box left Goss to sweep home the equaliser. The introduction of Danny Spendlove for a tiring Joe Stevens paid immediate dividends for the home side when his cross was knocked down by Andy Crawford for Frendo to thump home his 13th goal of the season. The Ware fans celebrations were cut short by Goss's last minute effort which completed one of the most memorable local derbies for many years.

Agony for Rockets Joy for Raiders

It was a day of high emotion at Newport's Hayley Stadium as the Rye House Rockets missed out on their first Premier Trophy away win of the season by a single point. That disappointment though was short lived as the Elmside Raiders made a storming start to their Conference League campaign. The Rockets 47-46 defeat was sealed when Newport's Craig Watson and Carl Wilkinson shut out Chris Neath to share the final Heat won by Edward Kennett. Again the Rockets were indebted to Kennett, Neath and Steve Boxall who contributed 37 points between them. In contrast the Elmside Raiders 59-31 success was based on a solid performance throughout the line up with Lee Strudwick 12 +2 and Danny Betson 9+2 both outstanding on their league debuts.

Brady Is The New Rocket

Rye House Rockets have confirmed the signing of former Edinburgh Monarch Ross Brady as cover for injured skipper Stuart Robson. The 25 year old Scot had been on the sidelines since Edinburgh failed to find him a team place. Originally Promoter Len Silver had hoped to tempt the experienced Sean Wilson or Carl Stonehewer out of retirement but when both moves failed he turned to the four time British Under 21 finalist. Brady will make his debut in the Rockets visit to Mildenhall on Easter Sunday.

Rockets Win Comes At a Price

Rye House Rockets 50 Kings Lynn Stars 40

Rye House Rockets
recorded a memorable win over title favourites Kings Lynn but the victory came at a heavy price with skipper Stuart Robson taken to hospital with a suspected broken wrist. Robson was involved in a spectacular Heat 10 spill when he caught the back of Kevin Doolan's machine catapulting through the safety fence. The Rockets were indebted to solid displays from Edward Kennett and Chris Neath while reserves Steve Boxall and Luke Bowen had another excellent night. Had Bowen not suffered engine problems when second in Heat 13 and Boxall not sufffered an engine failure when leading the following race the Rockets margin of victory could have been even greater. In the end though they will be waiting anxiously for news of their injured skipper.

A 5-2 win over Croydon in front of a bumper crowd of 262 at wodson Park took the Blues 10 points clear of nearest challengers Brook House who were beaten for the second straight game going down 1-0 at Witham. At the other end of the table Hertford suffered their 12th defeat of a disappointing season 1-0 at Wembley.

St Margaretsbury failed to build on their midweek win at leaders Oxford City Saints losing 2-0 at Aylesbury Vale. London Colney are still looking nervously over their shoulders towards the relegation zone following a 1-1 draw against Harefield at Cotlandswick. The Blueboys have won just one of their last 9. In Division One Hoddesdon bounced back from their midweek cup disappointment recording their first win in seven 2-1 at Dunstable 98.

Herts Senior County League
There will be no double cup glory for Codicote as Buntingford booked themselves a place in the Aubrey Cup Final thanks to a 2-1 win at The Bury.
