Barker Takes Honours As Bowen & Boxall Go Through
Somerset's Ben Barker won a run off to take first place in speedways British Under 21 Semi Final at Rye House. Barker beat home favourite Luke Bowen to secure his place in next Wednesday's final at Kings Lynn. Bowen and team mate Steve Boxall also qualified but there was heartbreak for Jamie Courtney who finished in 4th place. The night got off to the worst possible start with Elmside Raider Gary Cottham being taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg after a Heat 1 crash. Cottham's place went to fellow Raider Robert Mear who proved the surprise package of the night finishing 5th with 10 points.
