Saturday Football Roundup

Nationwide Conference
Late Strike Frustrates Stimpson
Exeter 1 Stevenage Borough 1
A Billy Jones free kick 4 minutes from time robbed Borough of the victory they deserved at St James Park. Steve Guppy's first goal for the club had put Stevenage in front after 57 minutes. The former England man providing a cool left footed finish from inside the box. It was little more than Mark Stimson's team deserved as they frustrated the home side until the 86th minute when George Boyd fouled Lee Phillips some 35 yards from goal. Billy Jones sending the kick past a startled Alan Julian to earn the Grecians a point.

St Albans 2 Gravesend 3
Mark Debolla's last minute drove broke Saints hearts after a determined fightback from Colin Lippiatts side. When Ross Smith handled in the area though St Albans were given a lifeline by Tom Davis well taken spot kick. With 2 minutes remaining it seemed as Paul Hakim had rescued a point heading home Lee Flynn's cross. Then with time running out Debolla struck from inside the area to condemn Saints to their fourth stright defeat.
