Rockets Brought Down To Earth

Rye House Rockets 44 Kings Lynn Stars 46

After 4 straight wins the Rye House Rockets were bought swiftly down to earth by title favourites Kings Lynn on a dramatic night in Hoddesdon. With little between the two teams the Rockets fell to their first home defeat since June 5th 2004 when Daniel Nermark held off the challenge of Tommy Allen and Chris Neath in the final heat. Nermark proved the Stars trump card on the night returning 16+1 from his 6 rides. The Rockets were slow out of the gate all night and despite some heroics from skipper Chris Neath who managed to pip Kevin Doolan right on the line in Heat 11 always looked to be struggling. They were robbed of the services of Steve Boxall in the final race after it was discovered that he had lost consciousness following a crash at the end of Heat 12. Rockets must now regroup for a difficult trip to Sheffield on Thursday.

Rye House Scorers:
Edward Kennett 6
Lee Smethills 2+1
Steve Boxall 7+1
Tommy Allen 10+1
Chris Neath 11+1
Adam Roynon 2
Ben Powell 6+1
