King Kieran Can't Shut Out Park
Hertford 24 Rosslyn Park 28
A last minute try by Richard Mahony condemned Hertford to defeat despite a super show from Fly Half Kieran Davies who scored all the Superblues points. Park took the lead 6 minutes in after some concerted pressure by the home side Nial Lear blazing down the left wing for a try. A tony Paul penalty extended the lead 4 minutes later. Hertford replied in kind with the first of 7 succesful kicks by Kieran Davies who was making only his second appearance of the season at No10. The visitors though looked the sharper outfit in the opening period and further tries from Kai Blankly and Martin Jackson put them 20-12 up at half time. Hertford enjoyed more possesion in the second half and looked to have got themselves into a winning position when with Park down to 14 men Davies kicked them ahead by a single point. To their credit though despite having Chaz Daw sin binned in the last 5 minutes Rosslyn Park continued to put pressure on the home defence Mahony finishing off a 4 man move to seal the points.
