Rockets Suffer Agonising Exit
The closest possible finish saw Rye House Rockets Premier Trophy fate decided in a race off after both teams finished level on aggregate at the end of the Hoddesdon leg. After starring in Rockets charge to overturn their 30 point deficit from Thursdays first leg Edward Kennett was unable to overcome Sheffield Tigers Andre Compton in the extra race and lead the current Trophy holders into back to back finals. All round scoring by the home riders had set up the grand finale as both legs ended in exactly the same result with the excellent Kennett narrowly unable to administer the coup de grace.
