King Kennett Puts Monarchs To The Sword
Rye House Rockets 55 Edinburgh Monarchs 37
A fifteen point maximum from Edward Kennett helped the Rockets secure three valuable Premier League points against a determined Edinburgh side. With the teams seperated by just two points at the half way stage The Rockets looked to have a fight on their hands but a 5-1 from Kennett and Steve Boxall in Heat 10 proved decisive. New signing Adam Roynon made an impressive home debut his four points proving poor value for the amount of effort the 17 year old put in. His duel with Monarchs number one Theo Pijper in Heat 11 resulting in an important third place that stretched the advantage to ten. The Monarch's final attempt to keep themselves in contention ended in disaster for the visitors when Matthew Wethers and Derek Sneddon conspired to throw away an 8-1 advantage when Wethers tactical ride ended in exclusion after he lost control on the fourth bend.
