Draw Frustrates City

Former Home Counties pacesetters Welwyn Garden City had to settle for their first draw of the cricket season against Sawbridgeworth. After racking up a massive 276-8 with Mark Everett (79) one of four Digswell batsmen to pass 50, Sawbo never threatened to chase down the target but held out stoically with 6 wickets down. Wins for Radlett and Potters Bar has opened up a 15 point lead over WGC at the top of Division Two East.
Shane Burger and Nick Fielden were the heroes for Radlett, the opening pair remaining undefeated as Knebworth´s 216-8 was overtaken in only 38 overs. Anthony Pratt top scored for KP who remain in the relegation zone.
A nail biting finish saw Gareth Berg single handedly take Stevenage to the verge of victory against Potters Bar. With neither team passing 180 Berg struck 97 but eventually ran out of partners 15 runs short of the winning line.
Hertford climb to 4th place after shading a low scoring match at Balls Park. Scott Ruskin and Krishan Canagasabey tore through the Hemel batting with 5 wickets each to dismiss the visitors for 97 which the Hertford batsmen passed in under 24 overs
