Welwyn Garden City Keep Up Pressure

Welwyn Garden City are still pushing Potters Bar hard at the top of the Home Counties League Division Two East. Ben Frazer scored an unbeaten 52 to guide the Digswell club home against local rivals Stevenage with 5 overs to spare. City remain 2 points behind the leaders who overpowered Hemel Hempstead. North Mymms batting collapse at Radlett saw the team dismissed for 114 and gift a comfortable win to the home side who stay level on points with City. Performance of the day came from newly promoted Hoddesdon who secured their first victory in style. Rory Coutts scored a magnificent 175 with good support from Matt Harris (123) as Hoddy posted 332 for the loss of only 3 wickets at Knebworth Park. The hosts never came to terms with the victory target and were dismissed for 160. Hertford also broke their duck to move out of the bottom two. Scott Ruskin took 5-55 to restrict Sawbridgeworth to 165 and Steve Cordingley led the successful run chase with an undefeated 69
In the clash of the Saints, St Margaretsbury suffered their first defeat of the season in a high scoring match failing by 42 runs to match St Albans total
