Twenty 20 Kings Target Double

Hertfordshire cricketers return to league action this weekend after retaining their Twenty 20 crown on Sunday. Captain Andy Lewis is determined that with confidence coursing through the team after demolishing Beds Bucks and Oxon in the short form, they can mount a serious assualt on the Minor Counties title. Herts start a 3 day game against Bucks on Sunday 25th June.
"I am looking to win this game to set us up for a challenge at the Championship final" said Lewis who is in his first year as county skipper. "We have the depth in the squad, we just need to ensure we focus properly while we are on the field and work as a unit to produce the kind of results I know we are capable of"
Matt Smith´s injury means the team will have only one front line spinner with the selectors opting for extra seam and batting cover. Andy Colquhoun the Potters Bar pace bowler gets a call up after impressing for MCC Young Cricketers, and Hemish Ilangaratne from Hemel Hempstead will partner former captain David Ward at the top of the order.
To win the game Herts will have to overcome the wiles of former England left arm spinner Keith Medlycott who now captains Bucks.
The game at Gerrards Cross CC gets underway at 11am on Sunday
