Stars Shine Through As Rockets Fall Short

The Rye House Rockets went out of the KO Cup after another dramatic night in Hoddesdon. Left to overcome a 13 point deficit from Wednesday's first leg it wasn't until the penultimate heat that the Stars ensured a semi final meeting with either Newcastle or Glasgow. With Edward Kennett and Steve Boxall in determined mood the injury hit Rockets carved out a 10 point lead with 2 heats remaining. The immaculate Kevin Doolan finally put pay to their challenge keeping his nerve to pick up double points in Heat 14 taking his personal tally to 20. Despite the defeat the Rockets who tracked inexperienced Raiders Danny Betson and Ben Powell in their line up emerged with a great deal of pride against a team who are most peoples favourites to pick up the trophy.
