Citizens Thrown Out of Vase
Welwyn Garden City were thrown out of the FA Vase yesterday after a succesful protest from Newmarket Town the team they beat to reach the competitions last 16. The Jockey's who lost 2-1 at Herns Lane last Saturday made a formal protest to the FA after they discovered that Luke Medley scorer of the Citizens first goal had not been registered by the club in time for the dealine on 20th January. The news comes as a massive blow for Welwyn Garden City after the club had put together their best ever run in the competition. Newmarket will now visit Winchester in the 5th round on February 11th.
