Westley Struggling To Find New Blood

Stevenage Borough boss Graham Westley has admitted that he is struggling to sign the players that he wants as the transfer window comes towards its close.
Westley was talking to the Non League Paper after missing out on the signature of midfielder Matthew Gill who has joined Exeter. "Financially, we just can't afford the players' demands" He said "I haven't got the money available to compete with what others are paying. I couldn't afford to compete with the first Exeter offer let alone the final deal."
Westley is unlikely to see any of the Anthony Elding transfer fee as he pursues his other targets saying “This year, I am working with less money in my budget than last year. And although gates are up, the club has expended on the new academy so these gate revenues and funds like the Elding fee are already committed. The chairman is clear about that.”
