Stevenage 0-1 Southport

Stevenage fell to only their second home defeat of the season with a truly awful display against Southport. Borough never got going, and in truth they should have lost at least 3-0. The only goal of the game came just after the hour, when a miscalculation from Ronnie Henry let Mark Robinson in, and in trying to rectify the mistake only took Robinson down. Henry was the last man and was rightly sent off. Robinson picked himself up and scored the penalty, taking over the penalty taking duties from Chris Lane, who had seen his first half penalty came crashing off the bar. Borough had the chance to level in the 86th minute when a blatant and stupid handball in the area gave Boro a penalty. However, Darryn Stamp's spotkick was deservedly saved by Steve Dickinson, giving the bottom side the three points that their efforts had deserved. Borough will face Woking on tuesday, knowing that they will have to regroup quickly in order to avoid another defeat.
