Barker Off as Brave Bury Live On
FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round
St Margaretsbury 0 Billericay 0
Bury survived for 65 minutes with ten men against their Ryman Premier League opponents to earn a memorable draw at the Recreation Ground. John Barker was sent off after only 25 minutes of the tie for denying Danny Hockton a clear run on goal. The home side though reorganised superbly and frustrated their opponents at every turn. Keeper Kris Smithers made a string of second half saves while Darren Williams header deep into injury time almost sent Bury into the next round. As it is they visit Billericay for a replay on Tuesday at 7:45.
