Centurion Nick Receives International Honours
St Albans Centurions prop Nick Surtees made his Scotland debut last Saturday - and made an immediate impact. The New Zealand-born forward played a major role in Scotland's shock 17-16 win over auld enemy England in the amateur international at London Skolars ground. It was the first time Scotland had beaten England at any level since 1996.
Surtees, whose father is Scottish, joined Centurions earlier this summer after winning the second division in France with Marseille. He has scored a try a game for the Cents in their push for the National League 3 title.
Nick is currently working as a barman at The Rats Castle on Hatfield Road.
Nick's fellow debutants included player-coach Nathan Graham - ex Bradford Bulls - who was extremely impressed by the St Albans' prop's display.
He has been selected for Scotland again for their final Parkhouse Recruitment Home Nations Championship match, against Ireland in Glasgow on 14 August.
