Final Heartbreak for Brave Borough

Nationwide Conference Play Off Final
Carlisle 1 Stevenage Borough 0

Stevenage Boroughs bid to bring league football to the town for the first time ended at Stoke's Britannia Stadium when they went down to a Peter Murphy goal scored after 23 minutes. Murphy headed home Tom Cowan's cross from the left to hand the Cumbrians victory. Micky Warner had Borough's best chance in the second half when his effort was well saved by Matthew Glennon. Despite throwing on Jon Nurse, George Boyd and Simon Weatherstone after the break Borough couldn't find their way round a stubborn Carlisle back line. An eventful season ending in disappointment after 5 minutes of injury time.
