"We Were Beaten By a Better Team" Admits Coach Burnell
ESSEX HERTS LEOPARDS coach Jon Burnell admitted that his side had been beaten by a better team following their play-off exit at the hands of City of Sheffield Arrows."I think that the writing was on the wall that if we went there and played a reasonable game, but only in patches, we would compete but end up losing" he said following Saturday's 103-71 defeat in the EBL Play Off Quarter Final. Burnell had believed that his side could spring an upset, but acknowledged that the whole team would have had to play to their full ability to do so"The way we looked at it was that if we all played to potential, and were all on the same page for the whole 40 minutes we could have beaten them."It was a tough call, and it didn't work out" he added.
