Kennett is on Top of The World

Rye House Rockets Edward Kennett is the new British Under 21 Speedway Champion after a dramatic night in Hoddesdon. Kennett won 4 of his 5 programmed rides before winning a controversial final in which team mate Daniel King was excluded. King who'd fought his way back from an earlier fall hit the fence as the two came out of the second bend with referee Ronnie Allen deciding that he should be excluded from the re-run. It was the second time a Rockets hopes had been ended by the exclusion light Tommy Allen meeting the same fate after a tumble in Heat 19. Of the other home riders Steve Boxall made a fine start but never really recovered from a nasty incident in heat 10 when he reared at the start and ended under the wheels of William Lawson's bike while Chris johnson had to withdraw after a fall on his first outing.

2. Chris Schramm (Berwick)
3. Richard Hall (Sheffield)
4. Daniel King (Rye House)
6. Steve Boxall (Rye House)
8. Tommy Allen (Rye House)
